It Begins!

Welcome to Forest City Freedom!

I was never a politically-minded person.  I never used to vote.  Being busy in high school and university was all the excuse I needed to neglect the events happening on Parliament Hill.  Then I got a job.  When I realized that I was working for the government for three out of twelve months of the year, I thought I'd better find out where my hard-earned cash was going.  It was time to grow up and pick a side.

I researched the political spectrum for starters.  Time to forget the many detractions I'd heard.  "Damned hippie Liberals!" or "Tightwad Tories...".  I had to do the research and make up my own mind.  Who would win my support?  The Left has its (supposedly) noble intentions of applying programming for the good of the public.  The Right is minimalist, money-oriented and efficient.

As an engineering graduate, I'm accustomed to hard work and fair compensation.  I want to live in a world where any person willing to work hard can make a living for themselves and their families.  Free individuals should be able to enjoy themselves however they choose, as long as their enjoyment doesn't harm another.  No one on Earth has any more right to be happy and healthy than anyone else.

I'm starting this site to bring a much-needed Libertarian perspective to current events in Canada.  Hopefully we'll shed some light on some of the more questionable government practices, shift a few paradigms and change some minds.
